Two principles with similar leadership experience and entrepreneurial spirit created Optivate. This Midwestern firm is a pioneer when it comes to deploying Robotic Process Automation (RPA) solutions and demonstrating ROI.

Optivate recognized the demand to provide consulting, implementation, and software licensing to organizations who lacked experience with this new technology (RPA) while also facing numerous operational challenges (business processes) that organizations across all industries experience.

Joseph Peri, MBA formed Optivate with his partner Joseph Huffine to create a world class boutique firm that focuses on optimizing business operations, with a specific focus on process automation (RPA).

Peri’s early career was in technology, where he gained experience in Electronics Engineering and Computer Science. The last 20 years he has been a leader in front and back office business operations in consumer electronics, Medicare claims, ERP/CRM, and the healthcare industries.

In 2011, Peri was hired to lead an enterprise wide shared services transformation for Ascension. The Shared Services Center at Ascension included 25 services across Procure to Pay, Record to Report, and Hire to Retire. There were also support functions like Automation (RPA), Contact Center, CI, DR/BC, Analytics, Customer Experience, and Service Management. At Ascension, he applied RPA to reduce costs by 20% ($20mm). The center was stabilized in just 4 years and grew from 2 – 850 employees and $0 to $76mm in revenue. He purchased the first Blue Prism license in North America and used Automation Anywhere and Openspan (Pega) to further reduce operating costs while enhancing customer and user experience.

Peri has a unique combination of business leadership, transformation, operations, and technology skills developed over more than 25 years in leadership positions and has held staff positions at several companies such as Anthem, Consona, and Ascension.

He has consulted many of the world’s largest companies, and is a frequently sought after speaker and thought leader in the areas of cognitive automation, RPA, shared services, business process transformation, operations management, and outsourcing.

Peri is an adjunct professor at Butler University teaching Modern Operations Management and Information Management / Business Analytics in the MBA program. He is also a board member at Marian University Byrum School of Business.

Peri graduated from Indiana Institute of Technology with an MS in Management and an MBA.  He also holds several professional development certifications including ITILv3 and a Certificate from Indiana University Kelley School of Business in Strategic Leadership.
